Description
Hello! This week will be a two-for-one update since this prop has a lot of details that couldn't fit onto one page. And, as always, this is 4 squares-per-inch graph paper and the scale is life-sized.
This week we have my plans for Kutone! The sword wielded by Oki (Okikurumi as he is known in Japan), a member of the Oina tribe of Kamui, from the game Ōkami. Ōkami is one of my favorite games of all time and I decided that I wanted to cosplay one of my favorite characters. I chose Oki because he has a cool sword and a cool mask. Hahaha... So I will definitely be making this. In fact, I've already started. Hahahaha...
For those using these plans, here is what I will be doing and you can go off of that or whatever you like. I plan to make the blade fairly thick and out of 1/2 in. wood. The guard I plan to make about an inch thick with some 1/8 in pieces and thinner for the raised details on the owl's face. For the sheath (the upper right picture on the plans), I wanted it to sit flush with the bottom of the owl's face so it, too, will be 1 inch thick. I personally plan to carve the patterns onto the sheath, but it would be equally acceptable to just paint them on considering the visual style of the game.
Part II:Kutone's Hilt
