And here we have some more shots of the Master Sword and Pedestal! Just some close ups of the hilt and Pedestal. And also a photo to prove that the sword is removable. Hahaha...
But on the close up of the hilt you can see some of the flaws...I added one too many ridges on the crossguard, the pommel is a little off, the wrapping (which is bias tape glued down with E6000 by the way) is a little off kilter, and the painting is a little sloppy. :/ But still, I'm pretty satisfied overall in how it looks.
As for the pedestal. The pedestal was something my cousin commissioned from me as well as finishing the Master Sword and making the treasure chest. It was rather simple but I'm really rather proud of how it came out. It was made with six layers of 3/4 in. aspen and is around 8 in. tall. It is also fairly heavy so I doubt the Master Sword will fall over when placed in it. I painted it basically the same way I painted my Miss Monster mask. I sprayed it down with several layers of Krylon's Make It Stone, then painted on a base coat of grey and then dabbed on layers of various other shades of grey.
And there's actually a secret about the pedestal and it's actually my favorite feature of it as well. But ya'll are gonna have to wait until after my cousin picks up his commission. <:WIPBefore paintSword in Pedestal
Edit: The secret is revealed! The back of the pedestal features an engraving of the names of my cousin and his fiance. My cousin commissioned the sword and pedestal for use in his proposal to his girlfriend. <:Pedestal Back Engraving
The Ocarina of Time treasure chest was also made for the proposal. To house the ring of course!LoZ: Treaure Chest
