Description
This would be the released Fell Arm of Rita Mordio from the game Tales of Vesperia, The Calamity Chain: Uroboros.
This was a fairly difficult prop. At least, in theory. I wasn't sure how to make it safe, light, and look good. I decided to make the handle out of aspen wood. The magatama head is made of several layers of insulation foam around a wood core for stability and for something the chain to hold onto. The plastic chain is connected to the two pieces by small metal rings.
I actually had to make the magatama head TWICE. The first time around I tried to use spray-paint primer on the foam...I didn't think it would melt because it was a primer. But it isn't the composition of the paint but the spray accelerants in spray-paint. It was horrifying to watch it bubble and melt before my eyes. OTL
